Part of that is because of Gambon's announcing of Dumbledore's full name in OotP. The way he says it just makes him seem like a conceited ass, in my opinion. On the other hand, the comparison for good/evil Dumbledore that springs more readily into my mind comes from a different series of films/books. Specifically, LotR. I find it easy to compar good Dumbles to Gandalf and foul Dumbles to Saruman...the latter making a lot of sense to me. Whenever I read a story with a good Dumbledore I picture Richard Harris, but with an evil Dumbledore I picture Michael Gambon. Mind you I grew up in the era where Harris was a huge star like in the epic movies Wild Geese and the man called Horse. He was an actor I admired. Anybody else the same or is it just me? DarknessKen Shouted: I just finished reading what's available of it thus far, and it's kind of a crossover, so... Harry Potter and the Summoner's Stone and its sequel Harry Potter, Bahamut, both by Lochar. Interesting read thus far, HP/Final Fantasy cross, sort of. Summonings in the HP world, with Harry getting Shiva's Materia and meeting Phoenix, Lily's protection being Ifrit's fire, and most recently becoming the new King of Dragons, Bahamut. I don't think some of them qualify as crossovers, though. For instance, I don't recall any crossover element in The Thief of Hogwarts. I'll limit myself to HP xovers to make it easier, but...I'd call it a 3-way toss-up. Bobmin's ongoing Queen Who Fell to Earth (HP/Pern), nonjon's Browncoat, Green Eyes(HP/Firefly), or Darth Drafter's Girl Who Loved and its sequel (HP/Ranma/Sailor Moon). Leonineus Shouted: My two favourite crossovers would have to be James D. Fawkes' Sit Upon the Frozen Heavens and Kenchi618's True Warriors Never Die. They're both awesome to the nth degree. And Dodger that wasn't the story, In the one i'm remembering Hedwid changed while she was at the school and Madam Pomphrey has to send for Harry and Hermione since human Hedwig was taken to the hospital wing. DarknessKen Shouted: Here's a disturbing thought I felt like sharing: With all these MPreg stories around, I wondered how it could work. The obvious is, of course, one male in the pair taking Polyjuice to become female and staying on it throughout the pregnancy. So, if that happened...what would that do to the baby, I wonder? Maybe that's how metamorphs come to be, exposure/over-exposure to Polyjuice during pregnancy. Dodger Shouted: familiar Sorry. Graveyard shift really stuffs up your ability to type. I was injured and was on some stromg medication and I only remember bits and pieces of the thing that I've read. The story I'm looking for was a Harry/Multi story I think but one of the things that I remember is Hedwig chainging into a girl from Hufflepuff and asking for Hermione or Harry in the hospital wing michae1ange1o Shouted: Hmm like knowledge of what his choices will do, and to chose the better option. The fist full of Harrys would be amusing. the1chaos Shouted: Both should (would) happen, considering there is an infinite number of universes. Everything happens at least once. It'd depend on how he goes back though - physically or mentally. Mentally would just give a severe case of schizophrenia which would probably be resolved (plotwise) by some kind of merger of everyone together, resulting in the aforementioned merged Harry with the knowledge and talents of each of the other ones. michae1ange1o Shouted: I have a question, if there are an infinite number of futures with an infinite number of Harry Potters, what if a portion of those Harry's decided to travel back to a major turning point in his life? like midnight on his 11th birthday? would it end up as an amalgum Harry with the memories and powers of inumerable Harrys = insanity or would it be a sudden flood of Harrys popping up everywhere? well there WERE a lot oh Hogwarts letters Snape would go insane and the sorting would be a HP flashmob michae1ange1o Shouted: *gasps for breath* michae1ange1o Shouted: What about Dumbles suffering from Munchausen Syndrome by proxy and didn't believe in the prophecy as well and Harry was nothing but a victim of Dumbledores ego and the 'greater good' is nothing more than making Dumbles look like a hero. michae1ange1o Shouted: I have one for you, what if Tom suffered from Cotard’s delusion and the Cruxs arn't real but Tom is deluded to think they are. Due to a magical quirk of an unknowing magical contract Lily made with Death, as a trade off, a ballance, not only did Harry live but Tom too. The prophecy is fake claptrap and Tom could die in any silly way, savaged by Snorkack or stampeded by Nargles is my favourite. |
