I will be working on new rules for the site.  For now the guidelines are that most stories will be acceptable here with the exception of extreme underage/adult sex stories. Any complaints about stories will be reviewed and a decision to allow or remove will be made on a case by case basis. If you have questions as to if your story will be acceptable here or not then email me. Give me a brief summary of the story and what you are concerned with as to why you think it may not be acceptable and I will give you an answer.  Shoutbox comments, news comments and forum posts are NOT acceptable methods to submit your questions.  My email addres is: webmaster@hpfanficarchive.com

A few notes about the new site:

1. There are actually two sites.  The main site is NON SLASH stories.  The other site located at http://slash.ficland.com is for slash stories.
   
2. The main site will not take Harry Potter stories as a main fandom. Harry Potter will stay here. (crossovers from other fandoms are fine.)  I was thinking about merging this site into the new one but I have decided not to at this time.  This may change in the future but its not likely. The slash site will allow Harry Potter stories.
   
3. BOTH sites use the same user database.  Registering on either site will get you access to both using the same login & password.
   
4. There is a message forum available but you will need to have a separate registration for it.  I did have it bridged with the efiction software at first but there were issues with efiction when it was.
   
5. The site is in beta testing right now.  I don't expect to loose anything that is uploded but the site is still being worked on.
   
6. There are only a couple categories at the moment.  I will add anything that people ask for to be able to post stories.  This goes for the "characters" as well.  If you need it just ask and they will be added.

Ok guys and gals...

I am working on a new story site.  This one is going to be open to everything not just Harry Potter.  My question to you guys is should I merge this site with the new one?  Best case scenario is that I can import all the current users and stories from here to the new site.  Worst case is that users would be imported but not the stories meaning that authors would need to reload the stories. This is mainly due to the big difference in category layout. I'm not sure how well it will import due to that fact.

I am not ready to give the URL out yet as I am still working on it a bit but it may be ready soon for a test run. Please let me know what you think about merging this site into the new one.

Couple small updates today...

1. Working on increasing the shoutbox limit. (still has a bug in it)
2. Story chapters greater than ~10,000 words can now be posted.
