I'm gong to submit all fics in this site to the search engines and social websites next week.

It will be a weekly service, which will be automated. Each fics on this site will be submitted to the search known 100+ search engines, which means more traffic to your specific pages.

I will also add a small icon, which allows you (or readers) submit your fic(s) to many social websites like digger and the like).

Today there will be a major update and send to the search engines and social websites and that will be repeated every week. You guys will probably notice increase after several weeks.

Thank you so much for all of your help! Here is the result of the performance test taken place Friday, 8pm GMT.

The site got visited by many people, there was a record number of people who were downloading, until the number reached of 1,502 concurrent users (users online at the same time). Only then the engine (TikiWiki 3.1) security kicked in and refused to serve the next user. (then everyone saw the message that the server was too busy).

With this information I know that the TikiWiki is excellent and perfectly up for the job, but not for shared hosting (that is what I have at the moment for the Writing Center IV).

Yesterday morning, without the restrictions in place, two teenagers from Australia thought they were funny and tried to misuse the RSS functionality of the WC4. They caused the server load to go up and the provider suspended the WC4 for several hours. When the provider at last discovered that it was a stupid attack, the un-suspended the WC4 and I placed the restrictions in place (avoiding accidents).

• Thanks to the performance test, I continue working with the TikiWiki, because I see that it is able to handle the pressure. Because of the complixity of the software, it demands good hardware.
• Thanks to the two teenagers, I am aware of the danger of shared hosting and want to avoid that.
• The shared hosting account is not one of the best to have. It is regularly out of the air for minutes to hours every week. The problem what I have with the shared hosting is that it is out of my hands.

To avoid allthe problems, I hired myself a dedicated server at Rachmounted.com for $35/month (thanks to Spencer (SnipeDragon)). Thanks so much. That means that I move the whole WC4 over to that new computer at the end of the coming week and the WC4 will be the only major site on that computer.

That means the following:

1. At the end of next week the current new WC4 moves to the dedicated server
2. At that weekend, I start adding the content to the WC4, focusing on fic indexes (lists of Harry Potter fics from the Internet) like harem fics, multi-pairing, slaves, etc.
3. Followed by several Magical Spell books
4. After that the encyclopedia start to be added with focus on the characters and the family treets
   1. Dark magic with magical spells and dark objects

And that will conclude the new WC4, its final resting place and the place to stay.

I have collected new art again, especially the Erotic Art. That Image Gallery is too big again, I will make many sub-categories with that one.

Some final words.

The WC4 is a hobby, and since I ran the WC, WC2, WC3 and WC4, I invested many hours (at night too) on the sites. My policy was spending time, yeah, but spending my money, no.

But that WC4 has hooked me up, so I broke my 'policy' and spend money. That means that I will run the WC4 more aggressively, commercially speaking. There will be more focused advertisement (the kind your can't block with FireFox and its plugins and mods), paid user accounts with special permissions, and...

The performance test will be held at:

Duration: Until the whole thing crashes or everyone gets enough
Purpose: To see what the performance is of TikiWiki? 3.1 under a load of at least 2,000 concurrent users

I invite all of you to help the WC4 by simply being there at those times. Invite anyone you know and let them come.

As bonus for participating to that test, I will release the restrictions of the galleries from Friday, 3rd of July, 8pm GMT to Friday, 3rd of July, 11pm GMT.

The new WC4 is not ready of course, but it is there and it is coming along.

All user accounts from the old WC4 are imported. So, if you know that you are registered at the old WC4, you are also registered at the new one.

At this moment, the new image- and file galleries are being constructed and filled with content. The download center (the WC4 calls it File Galleries) are divided into several sub-galleries, which are all improved (compared with the old WC4).

At the moment of writing this news entry, the moving is implemented in stages. The first what is being implemented are the following:
1. Import all (old) WC4 user accounts (this is done)
2. Implement the Erotic Image Gallery (this is done)
3. Implement several Image Galleries (this is done)
4. Implement several story Galleries (this is done)
5. Better forums (busy to be installed)
6. WC4 content (pending)
7. Much more, but that will be announced later

While the Writing Center IV is being under construction, it is still open for visitors, especially you for you.

The new WC4 IS NOT FREE ANYMORE!

1. Visitors - they are free to come, you don't need to register, but their access is limited
2. Registered users - much better then normal visitors, but also their access is limited
3. VIP - those are the users, who receive an email account (xxx@writingcenter4.info) and the price is $1 per year and (almost) full access to the site.
4. Restricted Area Group - like the VIP, except the price is $5 per year, which include an email account (xxx@writingcenter4.info), access the mail from the WC4 and full access to the site with various additional functions (like able to create your own file galleries, blogs, news letters and more).

VIP DeLuxe - like the Restricted Area Group, except the price is $7.50 per year, which includes a sub-domain (your-domain.writingcenter4.info) with unlimited email addresses (you can access your mail by web-mail), access the mail from the WC4 and full access to the site with various additional functions (like able to create...

1. The old file gallery, where you can download all (unsorted) fics is marked to be erased (in about a week or so). Let me know if you want to keep it longer. There are now exactly 4,310 fics in the gallery, but many fics are double or have different versions and/or formats.
2. The new galleries are divided into the following:
   1. Time Travel fics gallery
   2. Harems and multi-pairing fics gallery
   3. Humor and Parody fics gallery
   4. Dark Arts fics gallery
   5. Azkaban fics gallery
3. The format from now on is HTML only.
   1. This format is much easier to convert to other formats out there and there are people who wants to download the fics, but do not have word installed on their computer. Also they can view the fic directly from the browser in this way.
4. The galleries will be opened for registered members of the WC4, so that they have the ability to upload their fics in the proper gallery.

There will be more such galleries popping up over the coming days/weeks.
